Sarah Chen

Founder & Principal

Sarah Chen founded Superior Communications after two decades leading technology transformations at Fortune 500 companies and scaling startups. Her unique perspective comes from straddling both worlds—the rigorous engineering culture of enterprise technology and the pragmatic, get-it-done mentality of the Midwest.

She began her career in Milwaukee, cutting her teeth on manufacturing systems at a time when "digital transformation" meant convincing leadership that email was worth the investment. Since then, she's led AI and machine learning initiatives across industries—healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, and private equity.

What drives Sarah is the gap she sees between what AI can do and what organizations actually achieve. "The technology isn't the hard part," she says. "The hard part is everything around it—culture, process, governance, and the patience to do it right."

Sarah holds a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. She serves on the advisory boards of two AI startups and is a frequent speaker on practical AI implementation.

She still lives in Milwaukee with her family, and yes, she does own a cheesehead. It's worn without irony.

Our Approach

What we believe

These aren't just words on a wall. They're principles that guide every decision we make—from which clients we take on to how we design our engagements.

We Lead with Context

Before we recommend solutions, we understand your world. Industry. Culture. Constraints. Opportunities. The best strategies emerge from deep understanding.

We Build Capabilities, Not Dependencies

Our success is your independence. We design every engagement to transfer knowledge, build internal skills, and leave you stronger than we found you.

We Value Understatement

We let results speak. You won't find us on the AI hype circuit. We're too busy helping clients achieve outcomes that need no embellishment.

We Think in Decades, Not Quarters

True transformation unfolds over time. We're not interested in quick wins that create long-term debt. We build for sustainability.

Our Philosophy

AI transformation is a practice, not a project

Too many organizations treat AI like a technology implementation. They hire vendors, buy tools, and wonder why nothing changes. The technology works, the dashboards light up, but the business outcomes never materialize.

That's because AI transformation isn't about technology—it's about organizational change that happens to involve technology. It requires patience, persistence, and a deep respect for the humans who will live with the results.

We practice AI transformation the way craftsmen practice their craft: with attention to detail, respect for tradition, and an unwavering focus on quality outcomes.
